Steel : Steel is one of the major products in the construction of structures which helps to withstand building for long-lasting. The technical name of steel in engineering is reinforcement and it is also termed TMT bars. Steel Type TMT Bars Technical Name Reinforcement Chemical Name Ferrous (or) Fe Available Grade 415, 500, 550, 550D Rod Length 12 meter (or) 40 Feet Available form Roll / length How to Calculate Steel Weight : To calculate the weight of the steel, the following formula is used Weight of steel per meter = ( D X D ) / 162. (where D is the dia of the rod) Example : To calculate 8mm dia rod weight per meter = (8X8)/162 = 0.395 Kg To calculate the weight of a single rod of 8mm dia = 12 X 0.395 = 4.740 Kg Dia of Steel Weight per m 6mm 0.222 Kg 8mm 0.395 Kg 10mm 0.616 Kg 12mm 0.888 Kg 16mm 1.578 Kg 20mm 2.466 Kg 25mm 3.853 Kg
